You Chance to Give Back to our World's Children - Special Appeal for World Teacher Aid

In March, many of you responded to my appeal to help save 5 million acres of virgin rain forest in Ecuador. Thank you for your positive response.

Now I'm asking that you support a new appeal to raise funds for a special charity. This appeal is another World Internet Summit challenge and the person who is launching this current appeal is none other than my mentor and teacher, Armand Morin.

In fact, this current fundraising appeal involves another of my mentors - Stu McLaren because the appeal is raising funds for a charitable organisation that he and his wife, Amy, founded - "World Teacher Aid".

I had a similar experience recently where I was having dinner with some colleagues and one of them just handed out his business cards as though he was dealing a pack of playing cards. I didn't feel inclined to get to know that person further.

Oprah's Big Give Star Calls the Shots When it Comes to Business Success

Oprah's Big Give Star, Cameron Johnson, know what he wants in life and this is a key factor to the level of success he has achieved in his life.

He is just 23 years old and already he has:

~ Founded and sold more than a dozen profitable businesses,
~ Been featured in more than 250 media outlets worldwide including CNN, Newsweek, Business Week and New York Time, and
~ Served as a consultant to several Fortune 500 companies.

In January 2007 his first book - "You Call the Shots: Succeed your Way - And Live the Life You Want - With the 19 Essential Secrets of Entrepreneurship" was released by Simon & Schuster and is available in stores worldwide.

However, when the Johnson family checked into the Plaza the receptionist leaned over the counter to peer down at the young boy standing besides his parents and much to their surprise said:

"You must be Cameron."

You see Cameron hadn't told his parents that he had written to Donald Trump. And, yes, Donald Trump had received his letter.

The result was that the Johnson's got to actually stay in the suite that was used for the Home Alone 2 movie and Donald Trump also arranged several gifts and special privileges for Cameron and his parents.

Can you imagine the excitement that seven year old Cameron must have felt that weekend, the memories of which Cameron has shared with hundreds of people throughout the world through his speeches, presentations, TV appearances and his book?

Donald Trump actually called in person to welcome the Johnson's to the Plaza and to ensure that all was well. And with the gift basket that accompanied the suite was one of Donald Trump's business cards, signed by the man himself.

He also arranged for Cameron to have a tour of the FAO Schwartz toy store before it officially opened. The toys tore had a department that allowed young people to have their "business cards" printed. So naturally, Cameron had a set of business cards printed and used one to write a thank you note to Donald Trump to which he added:

"Look out! I intend on being the next Donald Trump."

Fast forward to the present day. Do you not think that Donald Trump, despite all his personal accomplishments, can't help but feel extremely proud of Cameron, what he has accomplished and the small role he has played in Cameron's life to date?

"Cameron Johnson wrote me a letter when he was eight years old. I didn't write back to him, but I responded with a surprise for him when he visited New York City. Thirteen years later, he's given me a surprise - he's written a terrific book! No matter what your age, you will enjoy and learn from Cameron's book about his accomplishments thus far. Earth Hour – Do Your Part – Turn Off Your Lights to Save Energy and Save Money!

"Earth Hour" is 8-9pm, your local time, today and in support of Earth Hour hundreds of thousands of people across the world will be switching off their lights for one hour. This Global initiative is to help raise the awareness of the detrimental effects of Global Warming.

Earlier this week I read a report that a huge shelf of Antarctic ice had collapsed. What caught my attention was that the size of this collapsed ice was 160 square miles. To put this into perspective, that is almost the size of Barbados (166 square miles).

Barbados, one of the most densely populated countries in the world is inhabited by approximately 280,946 people (2007 estimate). If it were reported that Barbados had suddenly disappeared (heaven forbid!) I'm sure many more people would sit up and take notice.

Satellite imagery further showed that another ledge, this time the size of Connecticut, 5,013 square miles, is hanging on by a thread.

These are the results of Global Warming and it having an adverse impact on our weather systems and our climate. And for us human beings the consequences of Global Warming are disastrous.

We live in a global community. We are all connected. You may think that your contribution is too small to make a difference but no contribution is too small.

Marian Wright Edelman, a lobbyist on behalf of children said:

"We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee."

Her remarks may have been made in reference to children but are equally applicable here.

So please join this global initiative turn off your lights tonight for just one hour.

However, you can do more. Here are 10 more energy-saving tips:

1. Turn your thermostat down a degree or two on your heating or use your heating for one hour less each day and reduce your fuels bills by up to 10%.

2. Turn the thermostat down on your refrigerator.

3. If you're buying a new washing machine, cooker, choose an A-rated energy-saving model.

4. Wash at 30 degrees rather than 40 degrees. On average this reduces energy consumption by 41%.

5. Turn off your computer when you're not using it.

6. Do not leave your TV, video and DVD players on standby. Generally, even on standby these appliances will use 25% of the full amount of energy they use when on full power.

7. Ensure that your hot water tank is properly insulated - this could save you £20 a year.

8. Draught-proof your windows and doors and save up to £20 a year.

9. Walk or use public transportation when traveling short distances.

10. Replace normal light bulbs with low energy light bulbs. They last 12 times longer and each one can save you up to £10 a year. You'll save even more simply by switching lights off when you leave a room.

The irony is that these energy-saving measures also save money. Yet some people are unwilling to make the small effort required to adopt these energy-saving practices.

However, I know that if you're reading this that you're not one of those people. I know that for the sake of Mother Earth and humanity - you will do the right thing.

Are You Overwhelmed, Overworked, Overloaded and Just Plain STRESSED OUT?

Well are you overwhelmed, overworked, overloaded and just plain STRESSED OUT? If you're not, congratulations! You're probably in the minority of those who have learnt how to manage stress. And, if you're not suffering from the effects of seemingly having too much to do in too little time then I'm sure you know of someone, perhaps someone very close to you, who falls into this category.

Earlier this week I mentioned that Tim Ferris was coming to London to launch his "The 4-Hour Workweek". Whenever, I think of this book I'm reminded of another - "Crazy Busy" by Dr Edward Hallowell - what a great title! The rest of this book's title is "Overstretched, Overbooked, and About to Snap! Strategies for Coping in a World Gone ADD".

The problem is that our feelings of being overwhelmed, overworked and overloaded are actually compromising our effectiveness, productivity and efficiency. We get things done but at a cost to both the quality and quantity of work we produce and at a cost to our physical, mental and emotional health.

So here are some tips for dealing with being overloaded, overworked and overwhelmed.

3 Tips for Coping with Information Overload

1. Set Goals
Without goals we drift aimlessly through life. It is important to have clear goals. Your goals act as a filter. Anything, that is not relevant to your goals you can simply ignore.

This also means though, that the goals you set must be holistic, balanced and in harmony with each other. They must encompass every area of your life, so for example you don't build a business and sacrifice your health. Set your goals so that they become synergistic - working on one goal will help to support another.

2. Eliminate
Cut the clutter. Make it a habit to get rid of things that no longer serve a useful purpose in your life. Aim to keep at least a section of your work space or desk clear at all times. If your work space is cluttered it will inhibit your thinking and productivity.

Don't let newspapers, magazines, letters, etc. accumulate. If you subscribe to magazine decide up to which year or issue you're going to keep and recycle the rest. Information is often repeated in more recent publications. Plus, the more recent publications will contain the most-up-date information.

3. Turn it Off!
Learn how to switch off to become more switched on. Get comfortable with switching off your email, turning off your Blackberry, mobile phone, etc. for hours at a time.

You don't need to be a constant conduit for information. Periodically closing your personal information highway will free more of your time for focused work and play as well as provide the time for the restoration of your mind and body.

3 Tips for Coping with Feeling Overworked

1. Learn How to Say "No"
Entrepreneurs get ahead in business and life by practicing the art of saying yes. In other words, sometimes an opportunity may come your way and you may not have a clue as to how to go about it but you say yes anyway because you relish the challenge. You know that while it will stretch you it will also move you closer to your goals.

However, there are many things that you do on a day-to-day basis that perhaps you don't need to do because you are not the best person for the job. Find that person and delegate that particular task to them. However, don't say yes to other people's requests when you know that it's not in your best interest, simply because you can't pluck up the courage to say no.

2. Plan
Plan your day-to-day activities and also spend time planning the various projects that you are involved with. Plans are not rigidly set in stone. They need to be flexible because when you set about planning you want to predict where any problems might arise.

Then you make contingency plans for each of these problems. In this way, if something does go wrong, you will be prepared and can smoothly make the transition t
