You might be tempted to set goals which you know you can easily achieve. By all means you should set out to achieve these things but don't call them goals. If you're going after something that you can easily achieve where's the challenge? You're really laying out your plans.
A goal, something that is truly worthy of you, will stretch you and cause you to grow in ways you may have never imagined. It is what you become as a result of pursuing your goal that is of importance more so than the goal itself.
This is why some people don't feel the sense of satisfaction that they thought they might experience as a result of achieving their goal. They were either so caught up in the pursuit of the goal that they missed the process and their own transformation or else the goal they set wasn't a worthy goal. It was something that they already knew how to achieve. All they had to do was put into play a known sequence of action steps. Where's the challenge in that?
You might be thinking why would you set a goal that you had no idea how you were going to achieve it? The Universe operates by laws and when you learn how to lead your life and pursue your goals working in harmony with the laws then all things are possible.
You see the laws that govern the Universe also govern you. Consider the following extract from "The Dore Lectures on Mental Science" by Thomas Troward:
"My mind is a centre of Divine operation. The Divine operation is always for expansion and fuller expression and this means the production of something beyond what has gone before, something entirely new, not included in past experience, though proceeding out of it by an orderly sequence of growth.
"Therefore, since the Divine cannot change its inherent nature, it must operate in the same manner in me. Consequently, in my special world, of which I am the centre, it will move forward to produce new conditions, always in advance of any that have gone before."
Now can you begin to see why you should be setting goals that are outside your current experience rather than simply setting targets for things which you already know how to accomplish? If you are not setting challenging goals you will not experience growth and we know the Law of Polarity that anything that is not growing is by default dying.
Let's look at a practical example of this type of goal setting. When Wilbur and Orville Wright invented the "flying machine" which we now call an airplane none existed. So they had no experience in this field. How could they? What's more they were bicycle mechanics.
Their relatives thought they were mad and even had them committed. They experienced several setbacks but they kept encouraging each other because they believed that what they were striving to achieve could be done.
However, the knowledge of how to fly has always been here and because the Wright brothers were relentless in the pursuit of their dream they achieved it.
So, when setting a goal, don't worry about how you are going to achieve your goal. Be concerned about ensuring that the goal you set is worthy of you and is something you are truly committed to achieving. Now although you may not know how you're going to accomplish your overall goal there will be something that you can do to get started in the right direction.
And no matter how small that something is you must take action. It may be that there is someone who has already achieved what you are striving to achieve. You may not even know them but you can still seek their advice directly or indirectly to help you achieve your goal and achieve in record time.
"The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum. The most important rules that I ever adopted to help me in achieving my goals were those I learned from a very successful man who taught me to first write down the goal, and then to never leave the site of setting a goal without first taking some form of positive action toward its attainment." Anthony Robbins

Jim Carrey's Latest movie "Yes Man" is now on general release and while I haven't seen the movie or read the book on which it is based I find the concept behind it intriguing. "Yes Man" is based on the book by the British comedian and TV personality Danny Wallace who spent a year of his life saying "yes" to every opportunity presented to him.
It certainly is risky saying "yes" to everything yet many people, like the character Jim Carrey plays in the movie, Carl Allen, practice saying "no" to life. This happens in particular when we aim to set goals for ourselves and when we find ourselves confronted with challenges. I'm sure that you've experienced this. You want to achieve something significant in your life but you find yourself coming up with all kinds of excuses as to why you can't succeed at what you want to achieve.
One of my mentors, Bob Proctor, found himself in such a position when he was maturing as a young man. At age 26 he was working at a Fire Department in Toronto. He was unhappy, unhealthy and broke. You see, at the time he earned $4,000 per annum but he owed $6,000 so, as he put it, he would have to work for 18 months and commit 100% of his salary to clear his debt but that of course was unrealistic.
Yet this job was the best he'd ever had. He had just two months High School and no business experience. He was brought up to believe that if you don't have experience you can't win and if you don't have an education you can't win. Fortunately, he had a mentor who said to him:
"There're the reasons why you can't. Have you ever stopped to think of the reasons why you can?"
There may be something that you'd like to achieve that you lack experience in. Will you let this stop you or will you find a way to overcome this hurdle. Even if you decide to pursue your goal there will be many more hurdles that you will have to overcome. Will you let them keep you from achieving your goal or will you raise your game and find a way to clear each and every hurdle that you encounter?
The more you practice facing up to your fears the more easily you will be able to brush your fears aside the next time they show up. And fear will stare you in the face. Everyone experiences fear but it your attitude to fear that will determine how successful you are in life.
"Many of our fears are tissue-paper-thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them." Brendan Francis
Many people are experiencing a tough time as a result of the economic crisis. However, within every challenge that an individual is currently facing is an opportunity. Do you have the courage and the clarity of mind to look past the challenge to see the opportunity? Do you know that the bigger the problem the bigger the opportunity? Hugh Miller said,
"Problems are only opportunities with thorns on them."
If you were given a glorious rose that had thorns on it you would no doubt still be captivated by the beauty of the rose, the velvety smoothness of its petals and its delightful scent. You would carefully clip away the thorns or wear protective gloves to handle it.
So will you allow yourself to be weighed down by your challenges or will you seize the opportunities that present themselves with a resounding "Yes!"?
First he had a book that no one wanted to publish and now publishers were scrambling over themselves in their desire to publish "A Christmas Box". Richard knew when he was in over his head and sought out an agent and not just any agent. He chose one of the best in the business, someone who is simply passionate about what she does. Her long line of credits included Robert James Waller's "Bridges Over Madison County".
It was decided to auction the book and the auction started with 16 publishers trying to outbid each other. After the first round only one publisher couldn't take the heat and dropped out of the bidding war which Disney was leading with an offer of $2.75 million dollars.
Suddenly there was an advantage to having received all those endless rejections from publishers. He knew every one of the publishing houses now bidding to publish his book. This knowledge would help him to make his decision once the auction had run its course. It was a bizarre twist of fate.
In the end Bantam Press & Simon & Schuster were the front runners both had bids on the table that were in excess of $4 million dollars. Richard decided to go with Simon and Schuster – much to Bantam's disappointment. He was given an advance of $2 million dollars and the hardcover version of the book was released by Simon and Schuster in 1995.
"A Christmas Box" went on to be the first book to simultaneously reach the coveted No. 1 position on the New York Times bestseller lists for both the hardcover and softcover versions. The book was also turned into a movie of the same name starring Richard Thomas and Maureen O'Hara.
But this isn't the true triumph of this book. Richard Paul Evans came from an under-privileged background. Both he and his wife were anxious that his family's new-found wealth didn't spoil them. He wanted to use his success and wealth to make an even greater difference in people's lives.
So in 1997 he founded "The Christmas Box House International" - a non-profit organization that is devoted to building shelters and providing services for abused and neglected children. To date, more than 16,000 children have been housed in Christmas Box House facilities and it has made a profound difference to their lives as the video above the post reveals.
Isn't it a funny thing that when you write a book from purely unselfish motives that money, fame and fortune seem to follow? True Richard worked extremely hard to promote his book but it the success of the intial word of mouth publicity that convinced Richard to publish the book in the first place. And you get the feeling that if money had been the primary motivation behind the book that it would not have enjoyed the success it did.
Richard Paul Evans has sold over 8 million copies of "A Christmas Box" and has gone on to write 11 consecutive New York Times bestselling books. He has 14 books in print and has sold over 14 million copies.
I do hope this story inspired you touched your heart. When you come from a position of love miracles can and will happen.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

Richard first 'released' his book "A Christmas Box" in December of 1992 but in February of the following year people he was still receiving orders for this book. So he decided it was time to publish the book but one-by-one publishers rejected it. Frustrated, Richard decided to self-publish his book and initially printed 7,000 copies.
Now most books do not even sell 5,000 copies so this was a bold move. He finally found a local agent willing to represent his book who enthusiastically told him:
"We think you're going to be really well. We think you might sell as many as 3,000 copies."
You didn't need to be a maths genius to work out what that would imply. Richard felt a sinking feeling inside. What was he going to do with 4,000 books?
The agent had based his estimation on the sales that his best-selling local author was achieving but a few weeks later he called Richard to say,
"Rick, you're going to need more books."
"How many?"
But the agent was reluctant to say. "A Christmas Box" was performing beyond expectations but for how long it would continue to do so was difficult to tell.
Richard's intuition told him to print 20,000 more copies but he was nervous. Instead, he printed another 10,000 copies and dispatched them to the bookstore. That was on 3rd September. On the 6th September he received another call requesting more books.
"I sent another 10,000 copies. Didn't you receive them?"
They had but they were now shipping this book at a rate of 3,000 copies per day. It was unprecedented.
Richard decided that it was time to build on his local success and take his book national.
He was ill-prepared for the reception he experienced. He said he felt as though he were being mugged everyday. But he believed in his book and knew from the numerous testimonials he was receiving that this book was indeed life-changing.
So he persisted and embarked upon a relentless marketing campaign. He talked to anyone that would listen about his book and he did countless radio interviews. And, by Christmas of the next year he had a breakthrough. People's Magazine contacted him to do a feature story. Then he was contacted by the Today's Show and suddenly "A Christmas Box" took on a whole new lease of life.
Major publishers started queuing up to buy the rights to publish this book. The first was Warner Books. Their representative didn't beat around the bush. He told Richard Evans that he was authorised to offer him $2 million dollars for his book. Two million dollars - it was a lot of money. Richard turned down the offer.
Next was Disney who embellished their publishing offer with the offer of an exclusive vacation for himself and his family at Disney World.
"Will Mickey Mouse present the cheque?" asked Richard.
"If you like," was the glib reply. Richard turned down Disney's offer.
This is the end of Part 2. The final part of this series coming soon.
Richard Paul Evans had always wanted to write a book and at age 29 he decided to do it. The book was intended as an expression of love for his (then) two daughters. Once he committed himself to the writing of his book he was truly inspired. He sometimes found himself pulling off the highway so that he could capture his thoughts. It was almost as if "A Christmas Box" wrote itself.
Just completing the manuscript gave him a tremendous feeling of accomplishment although he did think to himself how great it would be to have his book actually on a bookshelf in a bookstore. However, initially this was not a predominant thought and first he needed to get some feedback.
So first he asked his wife to read his book. Keri, not wanting to be placed in a position where she just might have to play her diplomatic card tried to wriggle out from having to read her husband's first book. But he pleaded with her:
"Just read the first 3 pages."
Reluctantly, she took the manuscript and settled down to read it and she didn't stop until she had finished way past midnight. By the end there were tears streaming down Keri's face. Richard didn't know whether to be alarmed or overjoyed by her reaction.
"Rick, where did you get that story?"
He explained that he had made it up and when he pressed her to say what she actually thought of the book she said,
"It makes me want to be a better mother."
Feeling emboldened he went to Kinkos, printed 20 copies and distributed them to his family, friends and neighbours. And at that point he really felt he was done. Then he received a call from one of his brothers. He braced himself, thinking that his brother would call him on his poor punctuation, grammar or both but his brother simply said:
"Your book has changed my life."
And this was the first of many similar calls that he received from those to whom he had shared his book.
Then, about 3 weeks later he received a call from a woman who said:
"Mr Evans, I want to tell you what your book means to me."
"Who are you?" he asked.
She told him but he realised that he didn't know her and so he asked how she had come by his book. She told him who had given her a copy but he didn't know that person either. So he did some research.
He contacted everyone who he'd given a copy of his book and found out who they'd given it to and contacted them. From his research he estimated that in the 4-week period since he had first distributed the 20 copies of his book that it had been read over 160 times. He was flabbergasted but there was more to come.
Two weeks later he received a call from a book clerk at local bookstore.
"Hello Mr Evans, did you write "A Christmas Box"?"
When he replied yes the sense the relief in the clerk's voice was almost tangible. He had been diligently and systematically calling all the "R Evans" in the phone directory.
"Oh good, where do we order it?"
Richard replied,
"You can't order it. It's never been published."
You could sense that feeling of relief evaporating and being replaced by confusion and incomprehension. The clerk was quiet for a moment then he said, "but we've had 10 orders for that book this week."
When Richard elaborated on the situation the clerk replied,
Major countries across the globe are currently griped in the vices of a deepening economic crisis. Many thousands of individuals have lost their jobs and many more are likely to do so. Here in the UK, for the first time since 2001, the total number of people on unemployment benefit has surpassed 1 million.
David Blanchflower, Bank of England policymaker, has forecast that the economic crisis will deepen. He forecast that unemployment figures would exceed 2 million by Christmas and peak above 3 million in 2010.
There are therefore fewer jobs available but more people competing for those jobs. At times like this people increasingly turn to other means to make money.
The viability of the methods presented hasn't just been tested and proven by the writers of this ebook but they have also been put to the test by other individuals as well including those who could be described as Internet newbies.
The strategies for each method are clearly laid out and references are given for lots of other resources so that the reader can find out more in-depth information or simply set themselves up to follow through with their chosen method of generating extra income.
Now, from the outset, many readers will have a clear idea as to which method they want to pursue as determined by their existing skills, experience, likes and dislikes. Nonetheless, it is well worth reading this book through from beginning to end as other ideas will undoubtedly be sparked.
There are also ways in which some of the income-generating method described can actually work together. In addition, there are little nuggets of information that could be useful no matter what you are doing that you'll otherwise miss if you only read the sections that relate directly to what you think you'd like to do. Having said this, if you're not into a particular subject then some sections of this book will probably make your eyes glaze over.
This book provides an honest appraisal of what works and what doesn't. There are no exaggerated claims which can lead to false expectations. And, although each strategy is clearly outlined, there is no illusion as to the effort that will be involved to make earning $100 a day a reality.
Even with 247 pages of material it isn't possible to go into complete detail with every strategy that is presented but there really is enough information for someone with even rudimentary knowledge of the Internet to get started. What's more this book also gives advice on how individuals can work with offline companies as well which further adds to its versatility.
Overall, this ebook contains great information at a very affordable price and it's an excellent resource for anyone seeking to generate extra income.

In one of the gyms that I teach at there is a large plasma screen TV directly opposite the reception area. When I visited recently the news was on and, as usual, it was all doom and gloom with news about the economic crisis, horrendous crime and the like being broadcast. And I was only at the reception desk for a couple of minutes.
I suggested to the receptionist that they could change the channel to something more enlightening or at least something more light-hearted. Their response to me was that they couldn't be bothered to come from behind their desk and change the channel. I said no more but went to teach my class.
I returned just over an hour later and the same channel was still on. I departed hastily.
Now, I'll admit that there is certainly a lot of negativity around but you don't have to immerse yourself in it. When you have a television or radio on that is continually belting out bad news or even when you surround yourself with people who do nothing but talk about negative things, even if you are not consciously paying attention to what is being said, your sub-conscious mind is soaking it all up.
There are several ways in which you can stay positive when surrounded by negativity. First and foremost it's important for you to express your gratitude for the good things you have in your life - no matter how small. The more you express your gratitude the more grateful you'll feel and the more you'll have to be thankful about.
"Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy - because we will always want to have something else or something more." Brother David Steindl-Rast
And here are some 10 more ways in which you can stay positive and focused on your goals while surrounded by negativity.
1. Surround yourself with positive, optimistic people who will support you and stretch you to achieve more in your life.
2. Create a Vision Board with images of the goals you're striving to achieve and place it in a prominent place where you can view it on a regular basis.
3. Boost your positive affirmations by creating your own Mind Movie of the lifestyle you are striving for and watch it daily.
4. Write your Vivid Vision Statement. This is a term I first heard coined by Robert Allen. Describe in vivid detail how you'd like your life to be and re-write it and refine it on a regular basis.
5. Listen to uplifting and positive music.
6. Read positive and inspirational books.
7. Watch positive and inspirational movies and documentaries.
8. Listen to the audios and watch the videos of personal development and self-improvement experts.
9. Be mindful of your self-talk and ensure that it stays positive.
10. Surround yourself with reminders of the things you love and the goals you're working towards. These reminders could be artwork, objected collected from nature, magazines, posters, etc.
Regarding the later, I have such objects in every room of my home so no matter where I go there are objects that help to keep me focused on my goals. Practically, every object in my home has a positive story behind it and some objects in particular have a profound significance to me.
And yet, they may be very simple objects but when I see them I'm reminded of:
~ Challenges I have overcome,
~ Wonderful places I have visited and will visit again,
~ Life's simple pleasures and treasures,
~ People who dear to me, and much more.
This is how you stay positive when surrounded by negativity.
To be successful you have to increase your rate of failure. The problem is that many people have a deep-rooted aversion to failure. They are striving for perfection but let's consider whether or not perfection is indeed a worthy ideal.
Regarding success Earl Nightingale said:
"Success is the progression of a worthy ideal."
However, the quest for perfection is an unrealistic goal because it is unachievable.
"We let perfect get in the way of possible. Nothing's perfect but we keep looking for it and when we don't find it we do nothing." Keith Cunningham
On this basis the pursuit of perfection isn't a worthy ideal because it often causes us not to take action at all. So we end up in a state where we are not pursuing any form of goal and we lose out on the chance of achieving true success.
If we could just accept that to be successful is to fail and fail often we could get over our fear of failure and get on with the pursuit of success.
You often hear that someone is an overnight success but when someone achieves extraordinary success we sometimes zero in on their success and neglect reflecting the path they travelled in order to achieve that success. Along the way there would have been many spectacular failures.
However, they didn't allow these failures to define them. They may have failed but they didn't see themselves as a failure. They simply saw their failures as experiences from which they could learn from and they kept striving towards their goal until they achieved success.
At first the measure of success they achieve may be small. However, they seek to build upon their success by increasing what they did that resulted in their initial success.
They also continually strive to improve what they do. They don't strive for perfection.
They strive for mastery.
And, in their quest to master their skills, they are willing, even eager to make mistakes. They realise that at the heart of ever mistake is an invaluable lesson.
They are also happy to perform poorly at first because they place greater emphasis on getting the task done than getting it done perfectly. If necessary, they later go back and refine what they initially did but often they already have their sights set on even bigger goals.
By adopting a process of testing and improving these individuals continually move towards their worthy ideal and are successful.
When you achieve mastery of something your level of awareness is heightened to such a degree that you are able to identify small distinctions in how you execute a particular task. Now although the distinctions themselves may be small, the effect on your results can be astounding.
These distinctions help you to stand out from the crowd and just one distinction can literally make you a fortune.
The Law of Increase is essentially about expressing your gratitude for what you have. When you do this you are in resonance with the things you appreciate and desire in your life and so you receive more of the same.
The problem is too many people are complaining about what they do not have in life. When you do this you resonate with what you lack and you get more of the same. The Law of Increase works every time.
One of the complaints about the hit movie "The Secret" was that it only focused on money and material things. The interesting thing is that this is not the case. "The Secret" also dealt with other key aspects of our lives such as health and relationships.
However, many people want more money and so when they watched the movie that is what their attention was drawn to. Then when they were unable to manifest the money they desired the movie became like sour grapes and they rejected the underlying message of the movie.
However, you cannot escape the fact that to live life of a high standard you need to have money - lots of it. I recently read about a businessman who has titanium business cards. You may be asking: "Why would anyone make business cards from titanium? Isn't that expensive?" Yes, it sure is but he can afford it.
Isn't it great to be so rich you can splurge on something like business cards and really create a lasting impression? You may also be thinking, "What a waste of money!" But surely this man has earned the right to spend the money as he pleases. It may be somewhat ostentatious but it isn't immoral or unethical.
What if your thoughts ran more along these lines?
"Titanium business cards? What a novel idea! When I have lots of money I'm going to spend it on…"
You would be in a totally different state emotionally than if you resented this business man. You would be excited about the prospect of having more money and the good things you'd be able to do with it.
You see many people would love to have more money in their lives but their resentment literally disconnects them from what they desire. If you feel resentment against people who are rich try feeling happy for them instead. Think about it. Their achievements demonstrate that it is possible for an individual to become rich. In many cases, these individuals have very humble origins. Some grew up in abject poverty. So if they can become rich against such odds so can you. Celebrate their achievements so that you may celebrate your own.
Sadly, many people often struggle to find anything to be grateful for but the mere fact that you are alive is both a miracle and a blessing. There are numerous things you can express your gratitude each and everyday.
Remember the Charles Dickens story of old Ebenezer Scrooge. He had money but he was not wealthy. He led a miserable miserly existence until the Ghosts of Christmas past, present and future showed him where he had come from, what he had become and what he had to look forward to.
After that revelation it wasn't just that he become more generous. He was more grateful for life itself and he expressed his gratitude for his life through his generosity. And the Law of Increase duly rewarded. After all those years of hoarding his money, the more Ebenezer Scrooge gave the more his business flourished and the more joy he experienced with those close to him.
Instead of being just rich he became wealthy too.
"Whatever we are waiting for - peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance - it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart." Sarah Ban Breathnach, author of "Simple Abundance"

When people think of sacrifice they think about giving up something. However, this is only half the story.
The Law of Sacrifice decrees that you give up something of a lower value in order to attain something higher of a higher value. Expressed in these terms you can see that applying the Law of Sacrifice to your life is about gain not loss. The proper application of the Law of Sacrifice will cause you to advance in life not regress.
And people generally want to advance in life but all too often they are unwilling to give up simple pleasures in life, even on a temporary basis, in order to achieve their goals.
Take television as an example. Multi-Oscar winner and Hollywood mogul Darryl Zanuck said in 1946 that television wouldn't catch on as people would "soon get tired of starring at a plywood box."
At least he was half right. Nowadays, the plywood box has been replaced by high definition plasma screens and thousands of TV channels are in existence - not bad for something that was predicted wouldn't last.
Many people wake up with their television and go to bed with their television. Some people have television in just about every room in their home including the bedroom and bathroom. Yet, one of people's biggest complaints regarding pursuing ambitious goals, e.g. starting their own business, is that they don't have time.
It is estimated that the average American child spends more time watching television than attending school and that in most households the television is on an average of 7 hours a day. Now granted, not all television is bad but do you think that people who have their television on for hours on end are being particularly selective about what they watch?
What if a person were to stop watching television for just an hour a day and replace that hour with an hour of personal development, exercise, studying new skills or starting a new business? Even that small investment in time, consistently applied, would yield great dividends.
The thing is every moment of every day we are trading our life because what we choose to do in each and every moment is a trade-off between that activity and something else and we cannot regain the time we invest or lose. The question is are you effectively applying the Law of Sacrifice to your life so that you're trading your life for something of value or are you just frittering away your life?
No one who has ever achieved anything of any great significance has done so without making sacrifices. For instance, Internet Marketer Matt Bacak has made some big sacrifices in his life and one of those sacrifices involved his mother.
When Matt was 26 years old he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a millionaire – a goal he had identified for himself since he was just 12 years old. He recognised that he had to get really focused if he wanted to achieve this goal and this would necessitate that he eliminate anyone from his life, at least until he completed his mission, who would not be supportive of or instrumental in him achieving his goal.
So he went through his cell phone and deleted anyone who didn't meet these stringent criteria. His own mother didn't meet the cut. As he explains:
"One sacrifice that I made was that I deleted my mother from my cell phone. And the reason I did this was not because my Mom was negative to me…A lot of us have these negative conversations in our head or these little gremlins and it was always my mother in my head telling me "Matt, you can't do that."…I figured that if I could stop talking to her then I might be able to control that conversation in my head." Matt Bacak
Naturally, at first, his mother didn't believe he was serious about him shutting her out of his life but she soon got the message when her attempts to contact him went unanswered. In turn,Matt Bacak's mother had to make her own sacrifice and grant her son the space he needed to become the millionaire he so desired to be.
Fortunately, Matt Bacak achieved his target before the end of the year which coincided with his birthday. As you can imagine, that year was pretty special for a million and one different reasons.
Charles DuBois said:
"The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become."
So the question is how will you apply the Law of Sacrifice to your life? What are you willing to sacrifice in order to become the person you desire to be?

Bob Proctor has been studying and applying the Universal Laws to his life for over 40 years and has achieved phenomenal success not only for himself but also for the many thousands of individuals he has taught across the world. The Universal Law of Thinking is one of several Universal Laws which silently govern our lives. Yet, it by mastering these laws and working in harmony with them that we achieve our greatest success in life.
However, with respect to the Law of Thinking, are you really thinking or are you allowing someone else to do your thinking for you?
Earl Nightingale said once that if most people said what they were thinking that they would be speechless. You see many people allow their thoughts to be controlled by others – newspapers, magazines, television, radio and the like.
And, particularly during this current environment, when the economy is experiencing a downturn allowing your thinking to be controlled by those whose role seems to be to continually provide a stream of negative news this can be very dangerous indeed.
Thoughts are extremely powerful. Do not underestimate the power of thought just because it is not immediately visible. You cannot see a thought but you can see its effects.
"Mind is the master power that moulds and makes. And man is mind and ever more he takes the tool of thought and, shaping what he wills, brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills. He thinks in secret and it comes to pass, the environment is but his looking glass." James Allen, "As a Man Thinketh"
In other words, as all the world's greatest thought leaders agree, you become what you think about and your external environment (in its broadest sense) is a direct reflection of your thoughts.
At a fundamental level we are simply energy and, with Kirlian photography, we can even see how changing our thoughts change the energy signature that we emit or our aura. Energy therapists also have the ability to 'read' people's aura's with a high degree of accuracy. However, anyone has the ability to sharpen their acuity to sense what another person is thinking.
Scientists have proven that your thoughts travel 930,000 times faster than the speed of your voice. This is phenomenal and it underlines the importance of controlling your thinking. The thoughts you think on a regular basis will materialize and, in some cases, with alarming alacrity. No other Universal force is known to be as powerful or as fast.
Voltaire said:
"No problem can stand the assault of sustained thinking."
However, there is a pre-requisite to this - so long as you are thinking about the solution to the problem and not just focusing on the problem itself. Too many people focus on the problem and then wonder why things don't work out.
Many people think negative and expect positive but, of course, that isn't going to happen. Yet often, when you challenge such individuals about changing their thinking and practicing positive thinking their immediate rebuttal is that it is too hard. Albert Einstein said that:
"The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking."
So if you want to change your life and resolve the problems you're experiencing you have to change your thinking. Yes, this can be a challenge but what's worse? Staying as you are even although you are dissatisfied and, in some cases downright miserable about your present situation, or changing your thinking to make it congruent with what you truly desire in your life?
However, remember that it took years of thinking to create the life you currently have. Change will not be instantaneous but it can be fast so long as you are persistent.
Einstein also said:
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."
Yet this is exactly what many people are striving in vain to accomplish. To solve your current problems you not only have to change your thinking you also have to elevate your thinking. It follows therefore, that you must be on a continual path of self-improvement if you wish to advance in life and achieve your goals because you will not achieve your goals without encountering and vanquishing a few problems along the way.
The proper application of the Law of Thinking is critical to your success. Your thinking will shape your destiny.
"Thoughts lead on to purpose, purpose leads on to actions, actions form habits, habits decide character and character fixes our destiny." Tryon Edwards

People generally want to progress and succeed in life. It's only natural. Yet most people have not achieved the level of success that they desire and this causes them great frustration.
People then resist where they are not realising that this very resistance is helping to keep them fixed where they are.
There's a saying that "the present is perfect" and this is rich in truth. Every moment of every day of your life is perfect. Even if it does not represent the life that you ultimately want it is, nonetheless, perfect. When you are able to accept this you reclaim your power to improve your current state.
Remember that what you resist persists and as Ralph Waldo Emerson says:
"The only thing that grows is that which you give energy to."
Where you are right now is a confluence of your past thoughts, feelings and actions. When you resist your present state you are giving energy to it. However, this is not to say that you should be satisfied or content with your current lot in life. What it does mean is that you have to embrace where you are and give yourself credit for your achievements while looking ahead to the future.
Just think of the typical thoughts that run through your mind when you are in a state of resistance regarding your current position:
~ I'm a failure. ~ I should have achieved more in my life. ~ I should be further ahead by now. ~ Life is passing me by. ~ I'm not good enough.
These are all negative thoughts and not one of them will empower you to achieve your goals and dreams.
When you are in a state of resistance your mind and body is in conflict. There is an enormous internal struggle. Any positive thoughts you may have related to helping you to advance are countered and neutralised by your negative thoughts.
Can you see now why people remain stuck?
The frustrating thing is that many people in this state, for whatever reason, are unwilling to do the work necessary to harmonise their thinking and mindset with their goals and dreams. They may be reading the right books, doing the right courses but still resist improving the quality of their thinking.
When you practice the Law of Non-Resistance you become calmer, more focused and more confident about achieving your goals. You no longer fruitlessly expend energy literally battling your current conditions but whatever is thrown your way you quietly and emphatically find a way to deal with it.

You are all too familiar with what happens when your computer system fails. The success of your business is no less reliant on the robustness, dependability and efficiency of your business systems.
Entrepreneurs and business owners are often intimidated by systems but, in reality, they should welcome them. The right systems will improve your business operations by leaps and bounds. Effective business systems are critical to entrepreneurial success.
To start creating effective systems for your business you need to be able to understand and document the activities of your business. Doing this will provide clarity about each activity.
It allows you to objectively reflect on what you do and identify how you can:
Sometimes the reason why individuals do not achieve satisfactory results through outsourcing is because they do not provide clear enough instructions as to what exactly they want done. It is said you have learnt how to do something when you can teach it to others. Similarly, in order to have someone take over a task you currently do, you have to be able to explain step-by-step what you want done.
Many entrepreneurs start out as a one-man show but you can't effectively grow you business like this. When Rich Schefren included a diagram of just what it looked like to be running a business as a one-man show hundreds of entrepreneurs got an acute wake-up call. The one-man show scenario is not a sustainable business model.
Processes and systems help you clarify and map out your business activities so that you can recognize what you should be doing as well as what shouldn't be doing. When you have effective systems in place you can see exactly how your time is being spent. You can then focus just on the tasks which you are genuinely good at doing - your strengths - for which you receive the best return on your investment of time. You can focus on tasks such as:
~ Content building,
~ Product creation,
~ Evaluating marketing campaigns,
~ Improving marketing campaigns, and
~ Researching new profitable niches.
Instead, some business owners are too busy doing things such as answering emails and dealing with customer service. These are examples of tasks that you can easily outsource. (Click the following link if you want to learn some great FREE outsourcing tips.)
With the introduction of systems in your business you also allow for more critical thinking time. This will allow you to be less reactive and more proactive. And when you're more proactive, when you're leading the way instead of continually fire fighting and responding haphazardly to various situations as they arise you'll have more control over the destiny of your business and you'll feel less stress.
Some entrepreneurs and business owners delay creating systems for their business because they think that their business is not big enough. Ideally you should be developing systems for your business and growing it at the same time.
The thing is that is that while it is never too early to start creating systems for your business it can be too late. Many businesses have failed because of they lacked the right systems so don't fall into this trap.
Remember, systems are essential for the long-term sustainability and scalability of your business.

We create rules and laws to maintain order within our society and when we break those rules and laws we suffer the consequences.
The Universe too is governed by laws and so operates in an orderly and, to some degree, predictable manner. And we can work out those laws by observing how the Universe works.
The thing is when we're born no one gives us a law book to let us know what the rules and laws are for life. So we enter the game of life pretty clueless. We have some successes and we also experience some hard knocks or failures as well.
However, if you don't know the rules of the game your results are generally going to be inconsistent. Consequently, many people stumble through life because not only do they not know what the Universal Laws are; they also don't have a clear understanding of how the Universal Laws apply to our daily lives.
The basic truth is that to become successful in life you need to align yourself with how the Universal Laws work - all of them. The hit movie, "The Secret" increased people's awareness of the Law of Attraction. But the Law of Attraction is just one law.
Just think about what would happen if you only knew how to act when a traffic light was red. Chaos would ensue.
One of the Universal Laws that is a big stumbling block for many individuals is the Law of Gender.
The Law of Gender states that all seeds have a gestation or incubation period before they manifest in form. Goals are subject to this law just as physical seeds are.
However, when you set a goal it doesn't always materialize when you want it to. And sometimes it's just that we didn't give the goal sufficient time. You may have planted an actual physical seed yourself and become impatient when the shoot didn't appear when you expected they would.
You may have disturbed the soil only to see that the seeds were actually germinating. The seeds were developing their root system and given a little more time the shoot would have pushed through the soil.
As Business Optimization Strategist, Stephen Pierce puts it the trouble is that:
"Most people overestimate how fast something can happen and they underestimate what is required of them to make it happen."
An individual who has demonstrated that they have not underestimated what was required of them to achieve their goal is the young singer Alexandra Burke a contestant is a contestant in the 2008 series of The X Factor (UK TV Series).
Alexandra Burke is in Cheryl Cole's under 25's category. She appeared on X Factor three years ago, but was excluded when her mentor Louis Walsh said she was too young to compete. Undeterred she has returned to the show stronger than ever and her performances put her in a class of her own.
She said that she saw her disappointment three years ago as a blessing in disguise. Certainly, it would have been a challenge for someone so young to have the depth and maturity of performance that Alexandra Burke has consistently demonstrated during this X Factor series.
After her rejection by Louis Walsh, Alexandra Burke could have given up her dream of becoming a singer. Instead, the rejection further fuelled her desire. She bided her time, plucked up her courage and auditioned again for the series when she felt the time was right.
To quote Stephen Pierce again:
"Everything has a process and you can't cheat the process. Understanding the process gives us patience."
So if your goals do not materialize at the time you wanted them to, be patient. Be confident that the things you want will materialize.
If you apply yourself consistently and relentless to the pursuit of your goal and dream your passion and desire to achieve your goal will eventually make it a reality.

President-Elect Barrack Obama's campaign was fuelled by the prospect of change - positive change. However, I'm not fully convinced that the masses are fully aware that in order to create the change they so desire to see that they as individuals have to change. This is the key to thriving during this current economic recession. As was once said:
"It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change."
But the problem is that people generally resist change.
Keith Cunningham said that:
"Growth is change and most people scared to death to grow."
Isn't that ironic? According to the Law of Polarity if we're not growing then by default we are dying. And yet we're going to die anyway so why do we resist change? Would it not make sense to embrace change and so make the most of our limited existence?
"Growth itself contains the germ of happiness." Pearl S. Buck
The trouble is that we tend to be creatures of habit. I recently heard a speaker admit that he drove all the way to his office on a Saturday morning when he intended to go to the supermarket. He was definitely on autopilot.
Think of the many tasks you do on a daily basis. In many instances you do these tasks exactly as you've always done them and not necessarily because it’s the best and most efficient way to do. The mind and the body get used to the routine which initially may have been challenging but now…
The consequence is that you cease to grow and eventually decline sets in.
Now, I'm not saying that all habits are bad. The most successful people in the world all have routines that they adhere to. The thing is that within the routine itself they strive for continual improvement.
For example, if meditation is part of their success ritual they will look at ways to improve the manner in which they meditate. They may try different forms of meditation or they may extend the length of time or frequency of their meditation practice.
Now let's reflect again on societal change. Think for a moment of a huge stadium filled with thousands of individuals each holding sheets of card of different colours. These cards have been allocated according to seat number so that when, on cue, everyone displays their card an image is formed.
This technique has been used numerous times in stadiums around the world. One of the most memorable of these occasions was the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. However, if people didn't respond on cue or if they refused to participate then the image would not be complete. It would be flawed and the more people who abstain from participating the more marked the effect.
Now obviously it's impractical to expect everyone to be seriously committed to creating change. There will always be some people who will be stuck for some reason in their old ways. Sometimes is just an irrational fear of change that holds some people back.
However, if people in sufficient numbers are truly committed to positive change they will inspire others to do the same. And this rippling effect has the potential to spread across the world.
Just imagine every human being as a light source. The more they develop their positive energy the greater their light shines. And imagine that this light could be seen from outer space. If just a few people spread their light then it wouldn't be very noticeable. But if thousands and millions of people did so then imagine what the effect would be like.
You owe it to yourself, your family, your community, your country and the world to develop your talents, to grow and share your light. So embrace change and remember:
"Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead
Goal setting is relatively easy. Goal achievement, however, is another matter and we often struggle to achieve our goals because we are not working in harmony with Universal Laws.
We are taught that we should set goals according to the SMART principle, i.e. goals should be:
~ Specific,
~ Measurable,
~ Achievable,
~ Realistic, and
~ Time-framed.
And with respect to goals being "time-framed", Napoleon Hill said that:
"A goal is a dream with a deadline."
Hence, it's easy to understand why people become frustrated when they are unable to manifest their goals within the time that they originally set for their goal.
However the Law of Gender states that all seeds have a gestation or incubation period before they manifest in form. This applies to your goals as well. The difficulty is that although we know the gestation period for many physical seeds, we don't know the gestation periods for goals.
Take the example of building a large, ultra-modern stadium. Such a project would naturally have a target date. However, at some point during the build the constructors will hit a snag - something that will adversely affect the building schedule. They may even have to resolve a problem that they not only didn't expect but had not experienced before.
Do you think the builders will just abandon the project? No. Instead they'll work around the clock to find a solution. Then they may adjust the rest of their schedule or even the design of the stadium in an aim to bring the project back on target and within budget.
Yet many people, when their goal doesn't initially work out think that their goal is unachievable. And, not having the faith to believe that they could materialise their goal, they give up on their goal.
Bob Proctor advises that at times like this that you don't give up on your goals. So long as your goal is worthy of you:
"Never change the goal - change the time - change the plan, but keep focused on the goal. You'll receive it on the third level of creation, the physical level." Bob Proctor
As William James said:
"Believe and your belief will create the fact."
You see, goal achievement can be likened to the growth of bamboo. Bamboo spends years growing underground before it breaks the surface. Similarly, things may be coming together to create your goal - things that you may not be able to see. If you abandon your goal at this point you'll never know what might have been.
Goal achievement is a lawful process and as you learn how to successfully apply the Universal Laws to your life you will achieve your goals with much greater consistency and greater speed.
The movie "The Secret" brought attention to just one of the Universal Laws - The Law of Attraction. And many people have found understanding just how this law operates to be a challenge. So it makes sense to take time out to study the Universal Laws and consciously apply them to your life. Just like the Law of Gravity is constantly in operation although for the most part you don't think about it so too are the Universal Laws.
So at any moment in your life you're either successfully moving towards your goals or you're moving away from your goals. When you understand the Law of Gender, you will understand that you can be moving towards your goal even though there may be no physical evidence of that fact. Knowing and accepting this will help you to persevere towards achieving your goals.
Remember:
"Faith is to believe what you do not yet see; the reward for this faith is to see what you believe." St Augustine
